'Teenage
Head was recorded for Virgin France before Rebel Songs, they did
a lot of work over there at the time. Not even Mick has a copy.'
(from an email to the website)
Teenage
Head is the Decorators 'lost' single, even more obscure than
the band themselves!
'...
Teenage Head (is) the great lost single. I remember walking past
a record shop in Paris with the band and seeing the record on display
in the window. On trying to buy it we were told that it was the only copy
and very definitely not for sale.' (Johnny
Gilani)
The
title track is a Flamin'
Groovies song, first recorded by the Goovies in 1971. It's pretty
much a straight forward rocker, with a fine tension-building intro.
Straight
Life is closer to the classic Decorators sound.
The
single closes with Grey Death, a slower number, soulful and
full of the lush sounds of Mick's vocals.
